Visionaries, researchers, startups and SMEs: EIC calls opening up this week!

It has already been two weeks since the European Innovation Council (EIC) was launched on March 18^th.

The EIC is an ambitious key novelty of Horizon Europe, with a total budget of EUR 10 billion for 2021-2027.  

Without precedent in its structure and purpose, the new EIC aims to develop and expand breakthrough innovations and bridge the gap between research and market. It has a dedicated accelerator programme and equity fund, the EIC Fund, to help innovative startups and SMEs scale up.

The first Work Programme of the EIC has already been published and fresh open calls are coming out of the oven on April 8^th.

What calls to look out for this month?

• EIC Pathfinder Open 2021 – if you are looking to realize an ambitious vision for radically new technology, with potential to create new markets and/or address global challenges.
• EIC Accelerator Open 2021 – for startups/SMEs wanting to scale up your high impact innovation with the potential to create new markets or disrupt existing ones.
• Green Deal innovations for the Economic Recovery – for startups/SMEs wanting to support the Green Deal implementation and goals.
• Strategic Digital and Health Technologies – for startups/SMEs with potential to be a global leader in developing strategic technologies in digital and healthcare.

The EU Prize for Women Innovators is already open, until June 30^th, waiting for the most talented women entrepreneurs from across the EU and associated countries to Horizon Europe.
