Dear Reader,

This summer is not devoid of important news: the Commission in fact has recently adopted significant amendments to the General Model Grant Agreement, mainly with regards to personnel costs calculations, with a retroactive effect. For a detailed explanation of the changes, do not miss Gabor’s latest post.

Also recently, the Horizon 2020 Work Programme for 2017 has been approved, giving the green light to a new year of proposal development for research-focused organisations, with a few updates.

Most relevantly, five new topics will tackle with Migration issues in 2017: you may find the relevant references here below.

Also, the current Open Research Data Pilot has been extended to cover all thematic areas of Horizon 2020, making open research data the default setting – still allowing for an opt-out, if justification is provided. As earlier, opting out from the Pilot will not influence the evaluation process. Again as earlier, all funded projects participating in the Pilot will need to submit a Data Management Plan (DMP), if relevant.

If you want to learn more about this Pilot, as well as about other dissemination and IP-related strategies, secure your place in our upcoming training course “Dissemination, IP and Exploitation in Horizon 2020”, which will take place next Autumn in Vienna.

We hope to meet you in our forthcoming training courses and remain available for any questions or doubts on Horizon 2020 and the EU research landscape.

Graphic design for Horizon 2020 projects: what difference can it make?
Valentina Zuri

What is the starting point for your dissemination work package? At Europa Media, our very first thought is always on branding: creating a familiar and consistent image of the project, so that it is recognisable by all audiences and on all media and devices.

In order to obtain a professional result, you really want to resort to a professional design agency, or competent graphic designer. Although this may affect your budget, costs for dissemination, including the creation of a visual identity, merchandise and other promotional materials, are eligible and can be planned under the category “Other Costs for goods, works and services”, or they can be subcontracted.
