The Finance Academy covers the full financial life cycle of a Horizon Europe project:
from budgeting and choosing between actual cost and lump sum to reporting and EC audits.
The Academy consists of two parts over five days:
This 2-day intensive training takes you through the full financial life cycle of Horizon Europe projects under both funding models: Actual Cost and Lump Sum. Through hands-on exercises, real project examples and case studies, you will learn how to build realistic and compliant budgets, manage partner finances, handle reporting requirements and prepare for financial checks. The course also clarifies the key differences, advantages and risks of the two models, helping you make the right choices and manage both with confidence.
17-19 March 2027 – Horizon Europe Master of Finance and EC Audits
Our renewed 3-day advanced financial course gives you an in-depth understanding of the financial rules, cost calculation and reporting protocols of Horizon Europe, for both actual cost and lump sum grants. Special attention is given to personnel cost calculation (actual cost, unit cost and lump sum), purchase costs, equipment, research infrastructure and internally invoiced costs.
Two signature workshops let you experience our learning-by-doing approach: in the first, you calculate eligible costs and prepare a financial statement for a virtual Horizon Europe project; in the second, you become an EC auditor for a day. The course closes with a special session on lump sum ex-post technical reviews.
Together, the two courses give you a complete, 360° understanding of financial management from budgeting to audit, across both actual cost and lump sum models. You will be guided throughout the week by our CEO and financial administration expert Gábor Kitley, and our Managing Director and EU projects expert Krisztina Tóth.
Participate in both parts of the Finance Academy and take your knowledge to the next level with our trainers.
