Enhancing bio-based innovation and participation in under-represented regions through cluster mobilization and collaborative governance
BIO-INSPIRE strengthens regional bioeconomy clusters in Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) to unlock their full potential. The project connects local businesses, research institutions, and stakeholders, to advance resilient ecosystems capable of driving regional economic growth. All this via collaborative governance, capacity building, and international networking. BIO-INSPIRE takes on systemic bottlenecks and empowers underrepresented regions in the EU’s widening countries. The project engages regional bioeconomy clusters in seven countries including Greece, Hungary, Slovakia, Lithuania, Romania, Bulgaria, and Poland and draws on the expertise of research institutions and clusters from Sweden and the Netherlands. A key outcome of the project is the development of a long-term Governance Model framework to support sustainable collaboration and ensure that local clusters remain active drivers of the bio-based economy well beyond the project’s lifetime.
