IMPACTMIN

ImpactMin developed new methods and a corresponding toolset for the environmental impact monitoring of mining operations using Earth Observations. Cutting-edge technology were proposed for the combined use of satellite remote sensing, aerial lightweight measurements and Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs). The proposed methods were validated at four demonstration sites corresponding to different scales and scope. The theoretical advancement in science and technology was made public knowledge with the help of a free multimedia interactive eLearning programme while the tools and foreground knowledge generated by the project had beencommercialised by the involved Small and Medium sized companies (SMEs).
