Remember my last blog on European Innovation Council calls? It has been a while so, I will leave it at your disposal right here. My friendly advice to you: don’t miss out on the already mentioned EIC Open and Challenges calls, in my last blog – times flies and deadlines are around the corner: EIC Pathfinder Open closes on May 19 and EIC Accelerator Open and Challenges first deadline is June 16.
Now, the call spectrum powered by EIC is not stopping there – there are more coming up that you should know about.
EIC Transition Open 2021
You might be wondering what the EIC Transition is. EIC Transition funds innovation activities that go beyond the experimental proof of principle in laboratory to supports both the maturation and validation of your novel technology in the lab and in relevant application environments, and the development of a business case and (business) model towards the innovation’s future commercialization.
There is a catch though: since EIC Transition is a new scheme, this year the applications are restricted based on results generated by eligible projects coming from EIC Pathfinder projects (including projects funded under EIC pilot Pathfinder, Horizon 2020 FET-Open, FET-Proactive, FET Flagships and FET ERA-NET calls), and European Research Council (ERC) Horizon 2020 Proof of Concept projects

There are also EIC Transition Challenges that you should watch out for:
- Medical Technology and Devices: from Lab to Patient – if your technology idea addresses important heath needs in the clinical treatment and care of patients.
- Energy Harvesting and Storage Technologies – if you would like to develop energy storage or combined energy harvesting/storage technologies that would be ready for investment and business development.
