Explore practical ways to integrate open data, FAIR principles, citizen science, and knowledge sharing into your proposal.

Open Science in Horizon Europe is much more than fulfilling mandatory open-access and data requirements. To be competitive, especially in a highly oversubscribed programme, you must understand Open Science both as a legal obligation and as a strategic opportunity

This webinar will clarify the mandatory elements, so you feel confident about compliance. But more importantly, it will show you how optional Open Science practices can significantly strengthen your proposal, help you stand out from the competition, and improve your evaluation score.

These practices are particularly powerful and often implicit in Missions and New European Bauhaus (NEB) actions, as well as in all proposals involving public value, social innovation, or transdisciplinary collaboration.

By the end of this session, you will understand not only what Open Science requires but also how to use it strategically: to differentiate your proposal, strengthen your implementation plan, and engage stakeholders in meaningful, value-added ways.

This session will cover:

  • The legal basis for Open Science obligations in Horizon Europe: what minimal obligations you must meet.

  • What optional Open Science practices can differentiate your proposal?

  • How to integrate stakeholder engagement and co-creation into your Open Science strategy, and why missions and NEB projects should go further.

  • How to link Open Science with dissemination & exploitation pathways.

  • Practical resources to make your research more visible, reusable, manageable and impactful while complying with Open Science obligations.

  • How to avoid common weaknesses identified by the evaluators.

Learn what to expect, how to prepare, and how to stay compliant when your project faces an audit.

Navigating through an audit in Horizon Europe can feel intimidating — but understanding how it works can save you time, stress, and money. In this 45-minute session, our expert trainer will walk you through the essentials of financial audits under Horizon Europe, with a short outlook on lump-sum technical audits. You’ll discover who could conduct them, how likely you are to be selected, and what different types of auditors (e.g. EC employees versus typical “Big- Four” approach) are really looking for. Using practical insights and real-life examples, we’ll shed light on the full audit process — from preparation to on-site visits — helping you understand what to expect and how to respond confidently.

Whether you’re a project manager, financial officer, or coordinator, this webinar will give you the clarity you need to face audits with confidence — and know where to dig deeper when you’re ready to master Horizon Europe financial management.

This session will cover:

  • Financial audits in Horizon Europe — whos, whens and whys?

  • Understanding your chances of being selected for an audit;

  • How the financial audit works: verifying declared costs and eligibility.

  • What to prepare: key documents, team roles, and practical steps before auditors arrive;

  • What happens during on-site visits and how to manage the audit outcomes;

Discover how to define and measure your project’s impacts for stronger, higher-scoring proposals.

Crafting a convincing Impact section remains one of the biggest challenges in Horizon Europe proposal writing — and often the key reason why otherwise excellent proposals fall short. In this 45-minute webinar, we’ll break down the concept of Key Impact Pathways and show how they guide evaluators in judging the relevance, credibility, and long-term impact of your project. You’ll learn what the European Commission expects in the narrative, how to define your unique contribution, and how to clearly link project results to outcomes and wider scientific, economic, and societal impacts.

Using practical examples and real evaluation insights, our trainer will demonstrate how to avoid the most common pitfalls and how to present a persuasive, evidence-based pathway that aligns with your work programme destination. This session focuses on clarity, structure, and strategy, helping you understand what truly matters.

This session will cover:

  • What Key Impact Pathways really are — and why they shape proposal success;

  • How to articulate your project’s unique contribution to expected outcomes and wider impacts;

  • Defining specific, relevant target groups (and avoiding generic or weak descriptions);

  • Estimating scale and significance: what to quantify, what not to overclaim;

  • Common mistakes in the Impact section and how to strengthen your narrative;

  • What to do in the new template where the 2.1 section is cut?

Get hands-on insights into structuring your budget accurately and avoiding the most frequent errors.

The share of Horizon Europe calls implementing the lump sum budget scheme will continue to increase in the 2026-2027 period. The latest proposal submissions under the 2025 calls have revealed further the complexity of preparing a lump sum budget and the need to be much more thorough when filling in the detailed budget table. Coordinators and partners face different challenges: cost estimations must represent value for money, be consistent with the work plan, justified in terms of necessity and cost-efficiency, and harmonised across the individual partner budgets.

Join us to get concrete and practical tips for filling in the detailed lump sum budget table. We will go through each of the tabs of the lump sum Excel table and build a budget real-time, while introducing different approaches and options based on case studies from actual proposals and feedback received from evaluation summary reports (ESRs).

This session will cover:

  • Setting up the lump sum budget table from the coordinator’s and partner’s perspectives;

  • Budgeting the specific cost categories: staff categories in personnel costs, depreciation and usage calculations for equipment, detailing the travel costs and costs for other goods and services;

  • Examples and tips to define sufficient items for your costs;

  • Examples on filling in the "Any comments" tab to justify the necessity and to clarify the nature of specific cost items;

  • Detailed explanation on how to use correctly the personnel cost dashboard;

  • Live budget development exercise on setting up the detailed lump sum Excel budget template and filling in the different tabs step-by-step.
