Europa Media is a unique company supporting public and private organisations to develop successful project proposals and effectively manage projects under the EU's research and innovation programmes since FP5. Over the past 20 years, our team has been directly involved in writing successful proposals and coordinating and managing projects under different EU programmes. Under Horizon 2020, we have been involved in over 30 projects as coordinators and partners. Our workshops and seminars are designed based on this direct experience we have from our own proposals and projects - we discuss and reflect on a lot of specific problems during these events. They are therefore quite hands-on with real-life examples and stories. This practical approach has attracted over 10,000 participants from all over the world in the past 15 years. Master of Finance: Personnel costs calculation in Horizon Europe and Horizon 2020
This course is about the financial part where most of us do mistakes – the personnel cost calculations. The second part of the series will be introducing the calculation methods, the choices the programme is making available for us and how it affects our budget development and reporting practices in our organisation. Prepare for the period when we report both based on H2020 and HE rules.
A new era of simplification has started with Horizon Europe. The new programme is not so much different from H2020 rules, except for the personnel cost calculations. So, if there is one thing you should learn about finances in Horizon Europe, this is it.
The webinar will be introducing a specific scenario on how the same people will be reported under H2020 projects and HE projects – follow the logic through this practical exercise.
Topics of discussion:
-
Who and when can be charged to the project?
-
Actual or unit-based personnel costs calculation – so what?
-
Project-based remuneration in HE;
-
Identifying eligible salary costs;
-
Calculation routes – monthly or yearly?
-
Daily rate calculation in HE?
-
Productive hours – should I accept 1720?
-
Calculation methods for productive days from hours;
-
Freelancers and temporary employees;
-
Secondment – what is the added value?
-
What makes a timesheet bulletproof?
