The proposal Submission Service from Abstract to Ethics

Are you coordinating a Horizon Europe proposal or involved in a proposal as partner?

The proposal preparation and submission process comes with several items to tick in a systematic way. This includes properly handing the proposal Submission Service from appropriately registering a proposal to adding partners and filling in all the forms: from Abstract to Ethics, from Partner admin forms to Budget.

This webinar will provide you a checklist of issues to pay attention to before and during the submission of your proposal and to clarify doubts on some aspects of the administrative forms in Part A. It will also help ensure that you do not fail on the admissibility and eligibility criteria.

Topics covered:

  • What does a perfect Abstract look like?

  • Partner profiles: Who to include in the “Researchers” table, how to select “Publications” and “Projects”

  • Who should have a GEP?

  • How to ensure consistency between the detailed lump sum budget and the budget under the A-3 form

  • How detailed should the Ethics section be?

  • When should the Security section be filled in?

  • What are the links and overlaps between Part A and Part B of the proposal?

Join us and get ready to smoothly submit your proposal!

59 R&I partnerships - get to know them - what they fund, how they fund it

The European Commission has supported already 49 European Partnerships under Horizon Europe. There will be 10 more launched within the 2025-2027 period.

Do you know what the EC funds in the partnerships?

Do you know that there are three main types of partnerships that come with different collaborative systems that means special application and management procedures?

The partnerships may also come up with special rules. There may be also different funding rates applicable to the different partnership projects. On a positive note, 95% of all financial rules will be the same as in a standard collaborative project funded under the Clusters.

"The aim of European Partnerships with EU and associated countries, the private sector, foundations and other stakeholders is to deliver on global challenges and modernise industry." To achieve this aim, different kind of consortia shall implement specific innovation focused projects.

The webinar will introduce all types of partnerships and give examples of forthcoming topics of the draft 2025 Work Programmes and projects funded under them. You will get an understanding of the main differences in proposal writing, management procedures, scopes of the project, consortia that should apply, etc.

Practical tips, approaches and examples for coordinators and partners.

Although the European Commission is continuously increasing the share of lump sum topics in the Work Programmes, most topics with a high EC contribution will remain unchanged and the actual costs will have to be estimated in the proposal and reported during implementation.

That is why it is important to be familiar with the "traditional" budgeting process, to practice it and to learn about the different practices, which can be useful if you want to coordinate or even want to plan your budget carefully as a partner.

There are several approaches. Some people plan in broad lines and then reallocate between cost categories if necessary, others think through and plan every cost item carefully. Which is the right approach? Which will be more useful in the implementation?

This webinar will provide useful practical budgeting tips and practices that you can apply in your next Horizon Europe proposal. We will also present the actual cost grant budgeting process from the coordinator's and the partner's perspective.

Topics covered:

  • EC budgeting requirements, what should be included in the application form?
  • How Part A and Part B are related from a budgeting point of view?
  • Budgeting methods and examples based on our previous proposals
  • What does the coordinator need to plan the budget and what information should be given to the partners?
  • As a partner, how do I estimate my own budget?
  • Budget negotiation between the coordinator and the partners

Join us and master the budget of your next proposal!

Practical examples of how to take gender aspects into account in your proposal.

What if my topic does not explicitly require gender considerations?

What if my area is not connected to gender and I am not sure if or how to address it in the proposal?

Is gender balance of the researchers involved enough to “cover” this requirement?

Are there ever exceptions to having gender section in the proposal?

All of these are the questions we encounter often in our courses, consultancies and with partners in consortia.

This webinar will help you understand the logic behind gender component in Horizon Europe and give you an overview of the most important documents, as well as provide a perspective on why this element can be a make it or break it in your proposal’s success.

Topics covered:

  • Why is the gender dimension important?

  • What are the basics of gender component in Horizon Europe?

  • What are applicants’ obligations?

  • Are specific gender expert(s) or partners in the consortium needed?

  • Which section(s) in the proposal are supposed to include gender considerations?

  • How to integrate gender into scientific portions of the proposal?

If you have been scrolling through the Horizon Europe calls for proposals recently, you may have noticed that more and more of them have Lump Sum instead of Action Grant Budget-Based as the type of funding. The shift is visible, and the Programme will be going towards Lump Sum calls more and more in the future.

This means that the budgeting we are used to needs to change: we need more details, more planning and definitely more time. As Lump Sum is here to stay, this webinar is meant to introduce how we approach budgeting in this type of funding, how the table looks like and what we need to pay attention to.

Topics covered

  • Lump Sum budgeting essentials.

  • Input needed from the partners for a successful budget development.

  • Introducing the mandatory detailed budget table and tips on how to fill it out and common mistakes.
