  • How to decide who should be a partner, stakeholder, end-user or subcontractor or affiliated entity.

  • How to prepare a partner profile/proposition to enter a consortium.

  • What does it take to be a coordinator?

  • Can you coordinate a proposal but not act as the official coordinator?

  • Can small companies coordinate a proposal?

No coordinator creates a consortium with the idea that they will have to exclude a partner, but as there is no such thing as perfect project implementation, sometimes we find ourselves in the situation when we need to take this difficult step of terminating the participation of one of our partners.

Topics covered:

  • When to consider excluding a partner?

  • What are the necessary steps before this decision?

  • What are the technical steps of starting the process of termination?

  • Possible obstacles and mistakes in the process?

  • Communication with the Project Officer.

Who is this webinar for?

This webinar is for anyone who is currently implementing or planning to be a coordinator of a Horizon Europe project. Even if you have a great and cooperative consortium, there are several factors that can lead to partners exclusion and it’s important to be prepared.

Hope for the best, but prepare for the worst – don't let the procedures of partner exclusion surprise you and halt your implementation!

Although the tasks of the last reporting period are only slightly different from the previous reporting period, there are still a number of tasks that require special attention as a partner and, most importantly, as a coordinator. Questions usually arise at the end of a project about what to do with overspending or underspending partners and what to do if there is unspent money in your project. These scenarios will be discussed during the webinar. We will go through the project closing processes and review what our obligations are in the post-project period

Topics covered:

  • Overview of the last periodic and technical reporting.

  • How to report technical and financial deviations?

  • Balance payment to partners.

  • How to get prepared for the last review meeting?

  • After project obligations and their time limit.

Who is this webinar for?

Whether you have already coordinated projects under Horizon 2020 and Horizon Europe and need an update or you’re just getting started and it’s your first time closing an EU project, this webinar will show you actionable tips you should know about this process.

Master your project management skills with us and get prepared for your last reporting period!

Open science is explained in the Grant Agreement as an 'approach to the scientific process based on open cooperative work, tools and diffusing knowledge'.

This webinar will introduce the mandatory legal obligations and the optional open science practices including early and open sharing, open peer-review, reproducibility or citizen science, etc.

All requirements will be explained on metadata, validation, repositories, etc. with examples from research projects from different disciplines. It is not enough to commit yourself in the proposal, because your promises will become your legal obligations.  The principle stays: as open as possible and as closed as necessary. How to balance this with industry partners is an important question you need to answer.

Topics covered:

  • Open access to scientific publications

  • Open access to research data

  • FAIR principles in research data management

  • Open science approaches

  • Licencing, repositories, validation requirements

  • AGA Annex 5 explanations

Who is this webinar for?

The webinar will help researchers and research administrators, communication people to understand better how open science requirements can be fulfilled.

Financing of framework programme projects through budgeting of estimated costs and reimbursement for the actually incurred direct cost reported has been the norm since the beginning.

However, reporting these costs can be complicated, which has led to complaints… a lot.

Later, Horizon Europe started using lump sum funding increasingly to simplify the program by removing the need to report actual costs. However, this has led to new complaints about the complexity of budgeting.

Most recently, the EC has come up with the all-new unit-cost reporting, which assumingly merges the benefits of the above ones….or rather the disadvantages?

So, which one is better? Which one is more flexible?

Though obviously, which one to be used is not up to you – as it is set by the EC when publishing the calls -, on our all-new webinar we are trying to find answers to these questions. Each one has its own bottlenecks and advantages, and the real problems arise when one has to use them parallel: internal recording, planning and bookkeeping shall face severe issues when a beneficiary has to handle both rulesets at the same time.

Highlighted topics:

  • Do I need any proof on costs in lump-sum? versus: Can I charge a cost if it incurred but was not budgeted in cost reporting?

  • How to handle timesheet of a staff member if involved in both lump-sum and regular projects?

  • Should the personnel be separated on HE projects funded lump-sum and actual cost?

  • Can I use the all-new unit personnel costs even if your actual cost are lower?

  • Can I cross finance and equipment from lump-sum and cost-reimbursed projects? What kind of internal recording is needed?

  • Internal invoiced costs and services – should I have 2 price lists? One for lump-sum unit costs, another one for real costs?

  • Reporting and payment scenarios, and many-many more…

Come and join our expert trainers, Krisztina and Gabor on this very special webinar! Let them show you how to navigate through the easily misunderstandable guides of HE and clear up the picture on the exact requirements and practices to be used in real life!

Who is this webinar for?

This webinar is recommended for those, regardless of experience, who want to learn about the problems and solutions of Horizon Europe funding schemes - given that fancy theoretical guides raise more questions than they answer!
